A collected collection.

Inspired by my memory of Giovanna and the admiration I've always had for her chic, effortless and collected style.  This project is the recreation of her personal wardrobe, imagined by me, through nostalgia. 

Starting with an effortless mule, handmade in Morocco, that can be worn from the beaches of Capri to the boardwalk in Coney Island and everywhere in between.

Giovanna is a New York based lifestyle collection, designed by 10 year apparel industry designer Leonora Arslani.

Born and based in Gravesend, Brooklyn, to an Italian mother and Albanian father, Leonora Giovanna Arslani is first generation American.

Having spent a lot of her childhood with her grandmother, a dressmaker, the love of design was ingrained from a young age. Leonora attended FIT, and following graduation was hired as an assistant designer at Lela Rose; she is now the Senior Apparel Designer for Lela Rose RTW and Head Designer for Lela Rose Bridal.

Having been exposed to a melding of cultures growing up, Leonora has always been inspired by the concept of “east meets west” and travels from Istanbul to Marrakech, the starting point of the Giovanna brand. Creating a personal line inspired by family, specifically her effortlessly chic, great-aunt Giovanna, her cultural background, and travels, was key to bringing to life an authentic brand and a “collected collection.”
